  • Do I need to wash the clothes I receive as a donation?
    Absolutely! We inspect each item for damages and soils, however, we do not wash the clothes that we receive. Therefore, you should prepare to wash purchased items before wearing them.
  • I want to make a clothing donation, should I wash the clothes first?
    Great Question! Most people gather donations out of their closets and drawers meaning that the items are already washed and clean. However, if you are donating items that have been sitting in your basement for sometime, we would appreciate if you wash the items before donating them. If you have a unique situation please submit a contact card and we will discuss the matter individually.
  • What are the methods to donate to Sonder?
    If you are an Atlanta resident, a central pick up location can be determined or a Sonder representative can come pick up the items. Whatever is easier for you! Please submit a donation request form on the contact page to discuss the logistics with a Sonder Representative. We also accept financial donations which can be made via Cash App, Zelle or Pay Pal.
  • What happens to the donated items that are not in good condition?
    There are several stores in Atlanta that take recycled clothing in any condition. Stores such as H&M, Madewell and Levi. For the items that are not in terrible condition we make donation bags for people living in shelters, homeless individuals and others that are simply in need.
  • What items are not accepted?
    Donors are encouraged to contact us to clarify acceptable items as this is not an all inclusive list. However, some standard unacceptable items are large Appliances, automobile parts, perishable food items, medical equipment, recalled items and unclean, or damaged undergarments.
  • Am I able to receive a tax write off letter for my donation?
    Absolutely! Provided your email address and an estimate of total cost of the items being donated and a letter will be emailed to you once your donations are processed. If you are unable to determine a cost, one can be determined for you.
  • What is an FAQ section?
    An FAQ section can be used to quickly answer common questions about you or your business, such as “Where do you ship to?”, “What are your opening hours?” or “How can I book a service?” It’s a great way to help people navigate your site and can even boost your site’s SEO.
