Eastern Star Volunteer Event
The lovely ladies of the Eastern Star Organization volunteered their time to come help out at the Sonder warehouse. The ladies got an inside look at the process of intaking and sorting donations. We receive new donations weekly so having the ladies come help organize was very much appreciated!
Food Donations
Food and groceries are among the top requested items that Sonder receives. Through contributions from our supporters we are able to provide individuals and families with groceries to ensure their nutritional needs are met. Sometimes we have the privilege of allowing the individual to pick their groceries and other times we deliver what we have on hand in our pantry or what we can acquire from other local food pantries.
Furniture & Household Donations
Many situations lead to people needing furniture and household donations. Children getting older, going from homeless to housed, or simply accidental occurrences during periods of financial distress. Sonder accepts donations of household items and ensures that they go to families in need.
Clothing Donations
Collecting and distributing clothing is how Sonder got it's start and therefore will always been near and dear to our hearts. Sonder collects new and gently used clothing, shoes and accessories that are distributed to individuals and families who request these items. Everyone desires to have clothing and attire that allows them to feel clean and confident each and everyday!
Mother's Day Give-A-Way Event
We partnered with Power Forward Outreach Organization to host a Mother's Day event that was a huge success. Mothers and soon-to-be mothers were able to leave with diapers, wipes, and other baby essentials to ensure that they and their babies had what they needed to stay safe and protected.
Christmas Sponsorships
Every year we volunteer our time and resources to help other organizations have successful Christmas events. Sonder receives a lot of support and donations each year that enables us to add to other agencies efforts to ensure that the seed families have a good Christmas. Whether it is decorating a tree or sponsoring a family, Sonder is always ready to assist during the holidays!
