Meet
Erica
Erica started Sonder Dreams in May of 2019 but the seed was planted well before that day. As early as elementary school, Erica has been finding ways to help those around her. Her efforts went from sneaking extra swiss rolls in her lunch to planting gardens and mentoring young girls. Erica shows that she understands the power of volunteerism and is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of others.

Erica was brought up in a Christian household and raised primarily by her mother and grandmother who instilled in her the importance of being knowledgeable, humble and giving. Therefore, after graduating from Frederick Douglass High School in Atlanta, Erica obtained her Bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in Administration of Justice from Howard University in Washington, D.C. Later she went on to obtain her Masters of Social Work from Simmons University. The goal was to gather the educational background to be a tool for others.
Erica's many travels have shown her two things. There are many resources available within the United States. Yet, there are so many people going without their basic necessities. Sonder seeks to provide a solution to this epidemic using a classic trend. #RecycleReuseRepurpose

I always think about selling things that I am no longer going to use around the house. Or I think to just take it to the salvation army but I am always left wondering if the items will actually go to a family in need. With Sonder, I have comfort in knowing my stuff is going to a family in need for sure.

I met Erica through a group me called BGSW. Erica shared that she has a non profit that accepts donations for men, women and children. I became interested in her organization due to always donating my things and my family's things to Goodwill. I felt as though my donations to Goodwill weren't really making a difference. I reached out to Erica to donate my things and she was more than appreciative of my donations. I knew that the things I was donating would go to good use to help a child or woman in need. I will continue to donate to her organization!

It absolutely warms my heart to be able to donate items AND know that they will go directly to those who need them most. I truly love that a Black woman takes so much time and consideration to make sure that happens. I will continue to donate items to Sonder Dreams and recommend for any and every one I know that wants to donate to do so as well. Thank you for what you put into the world to make it a better place.
